David Ko

Hailing from Kowloon Walled City, China; David Ko immigrated to the United States in the late 1970s, spending much of his youth in the garment district in downtown Los Angeles. He began his undergraduate studies at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont studying physics, before settling on a degree in Architecture, which he earned from Cal Poly Pomona. His time navigating the complex labyrinth of Kowloon and his time roaming the streets of L.A. provided him with inspiration for urban residential design. “Architecture is part science, art, puzzle, business and an accumulation of life experiences”.

David has a passion for combining authentic traditional design with modern techniques. He draws inspiration from his extensive architectural library, which is among the country’s largest private collection. He has a vast knowledge of architectural history and his constant striving to cultivate his knowledge, allows him to seamlessly incorporate classic design styles with modern building products, creating a completely new archetype!

David takes great pride in being able to create a span of designs, appropriate for first time home buyers attached and detached condominiums in Irvine, to extensive custom and vacation homes in locations such as Shady Canyon and Crystal Cove. By studying cultural trends and the psychology of buying, he is able to create products that appeal to all segments of society, crafting the perfect combination of style and efficiency.
